About the Team

LC | ECT

The Laurel Canyon Emergency Communications Team is a volunteer group of local residents organized to enhance communications during emergencies. If the normal infrastructure of electronic communication services is damaged or inoperable, ECT volunteers will establish local communications networks using FRS radios (Walkie Talkies), and will utilize licensed Amateur Radio operators with the ability to communicate with emergency services.

Whether in a short term power outage, or a major disaster such as an earthquake, LC ECT radio operators will work as volunteers to help establish emergency communications into and out of Laurel Canyon.
